There’s a difference between not actively seeking out transgender romantic partners and trumpeting from the rooftops that you would NEVER date someone who’s trans because you think they’re SOOOOO gross. Same goes for just about any dating preference you could possibly have. Don’t be an ass, keep it largely to yourself unless appropriately prompted by someone trying to initiate a romantic relationship, and don’t make it other people’s problem that you don’t wanna band em

(i’m trans) in my mind, it’s similar to how i dont like dating muscular men and i like when men have hair rather than being bald. why date someone with physical attributes im not attracted to. as long as they’re not saying or doing transphobic things, like being disgusted im trans rather than just saying they dont want to date a trans person, then it’s not transphobic. everyone is attracted to different things imo

If your reason for now dating them is ANYTHING other than just the fact that they are trans and you don’t like that, it’s NOT transphobic. Sexual incompatibility, maturity levels differ, you just aren’t attracted to them, maybe you just think they’ve got a fuckass haircut, none of these things are transphobic and are real valid reasons to not date someone. The only time it is transphobic to not date a trans person is if it is specifically because you “don’t like trans people”

This is very very very grossly oversimplifying the discussion that was happening. It was very specifically pertaining to bisexual people having no genital preference, yet having an aversion to trans people.

i think it’s similar to how trans people sometimes have a preference to only date other trans people. maybe because of safety, understanding, etc, but i like dating trans people because im more attracted to them and im not the only one

Also btw, coming from a research background, this is not a very tight poll question. If you get majority "it depends" when you ask a yes or no question, you weren't specific enough.
