We need to talk about how when the spilt attraction model is by ppl who aren’t aroace it is often used to promote the fetishization and objectification of women
Sexual and romantic orientation are two different things.

i would say that it’s not just the fetishization + objectification of women, often it’s used to justify only having sexual relationships with same-sex partners and only being open to romantic/committed relationships with opposite sex partners. charitably, sometimes it’s due to internalized homophobia, but that often ends up just leading to regular homophobia. the “queer people are only for sex, i’ll get in a straight relationship when i grow up/want kids/someone to take home/etc” mindset sucks.

I agree I just think when people who aren’t aro or ace use it they end up promoting homophobic ideas

oh yeah i’m agreeing with you. it seems like this was brought up in the context of bi women not disclosing that they’re not interested in anything but sex with women, i just wanted to point out that i’ve also seen this happen with men only pursing sexual relationships with men too. so it seems (ime) to be a broader trend where multisexual people seek out only sexual relationships with same-sex partners vs being open to romantic connections with opposite sex partners.
