Stuff like this is crazy to read. I grew up in a mostly republican southern beach town but every one is really accepting of everyone. Like they’re actually nice. Some White supremacist group tried to target our town and indoctrinate the churches and we all basically ran them out of town, then the churches started shifting to allow gay marriage (before ministers would still do it, but not in the church bc of higher up ruling). All under trump administration. Sorry you had negative experience

I guess it really speaks to the area it’s in, I came out as bi and even our towns biggest “trumpie” is supportive and even got me a little pride pin that’s a dog (they’re a family friend and they saw it and it reminded them of me), but I keep reading talks stories and it’s the opposite

she’s very autistic and didn’t like that the coffee place i went to had a pride flag in the window last time she went. she started going off and i just told her hey man i am a part of this community and i love and respect the queer ppl in my life, they’re ppl, and i am not going to listen to you talking down on anyone like that. don’t do it around me. and she walked away 😭
