True cause this happened to my friend. The guy they were dating was basically ignoring that they’re nonbinary and kept referring to them as his girlfriend when they exclusively use they/them and would insist on being called his partner. Had to talk some sense into them about this white cis man they were dating who was invalidating their identity just bc they’re fem

i’m talking about non binary ppl and transmascs - there’s an epidemic of settling with a mid white man because he’s vaguely nice to you and is flirty. in reality, he can’t find anyone from his actual preference pool (cis women) to date him, so he branches out in hope that he can “save” you from being trans/genderqueer. ANY relationship where one partner is “saving” or “fixing” the other is super unhealthy
