Butch would be lesbian specific but masc is not

Transmasc means transitioning in a masculine direction. Transmasc can be gay, bi, lesbians whatever they want

Nobody is "problematic" for identifying a certain way. That is an idea brought onto us by our oppressors. Queer discourse is made tf up

the idea that “transmasc” is lesbian specific is actually transphobic. mlm, bisexual, and straight transmascs exist and are in fact the majority of transmascs.

+ masc is frequently used by other queer people, for ex. gay men.

the only “good faith” reading of this is that someone is ignorant and stuck in a lesbian echo chamber

Hell I’m a lesbian who spends a ton of time in lesbian spaces online and irl and I have never seen someone say masc is lesbian specific. In fact I have seen more lesbians encouraging ppl to use masc instead of butch if they aren’t a lesbian

I identify as transmasc but I’m bisexual and was told that that was problematic because I was appropriating lesbian terms. They said it was like the nonbinary version of butch/stud which didn’t seem right to me but I wanted to check in to make sure I wasn’t being problematic 🫶

I was told it was similar to butch or stud in the way that it indicated a masculine-leaning lesbian and was told that I was contributing to predation against lesbian by identifying as a masc when I’m bisexual 😭

Im sorry whoever told you that is greatly misinformed, I’ve been on dates with bi masc girls in the past, theres nothing wrong with identifying that way 🙏

I really appreciate the feedback, and I’m very sorry if this post stirred up any negative emotions or discourse or anything for anyone. It’s rlly hard for me to know if someone is misinformed or trolling me or whatever and getting community feedback helps a lot, esp when it’s unanimous like this :)
