Yes because why can I not be asexual in peace. Why am I being hounded for not wanting to date, why does everyone think I was assaulted?? Why does the world act like I owe everyone an explanation and then get pissed at the answer?

from birth “society” has actually told most of us that discussing our sexual orientation is too sexual/sexualizing/inappropriate/shoving it down others’ throats. i’m sorry that you’re experience what is likely internet queer spaces pressuring you to choose and announce a label, but let’s not forget the reality that queer people are actually punished for letting people know their sexuality, sometimes violently

Not necessarily let everyone know, but I do feel like it made me feel like I had to label it for everyone else

yeah i feel like people on the internet often mix up the messages “society” (ie heteropatriachy) is sending with the messages they’re getting from within their own echo chamber. largely it is seen as abnormal and is sometimes dangerous for people to have and share identities other than heterosexual and cisgender

Like for the love of fuck I’m not a rape victim I just don’t like people like that, and saying I need to be “fixed” is pretty rapey rhetoric in general
