it’s like how some people still use “bean soup” as shorthand for “whatabout-ism” even though the tiktok they’re referencing was a bad faith misrepresentation in the first place lol. that lady was complaining about someone asking for “bean-free recipes for bean soup”, but the comment she showed was actually in response to a video captioned as “high-protein vegan soup for low-iron girlies”… in context, it made perfect sense for someone to ask about a substitution for the beans

What do you mean by that? If this is the comment you’re referring to in your quote post, it’s not even close to a recreation of the tweet. If anything, your defensive reaction to the additional perspective they’re offering seems to be proving their comment correct
