Sex is different than gender — does that make sexuality different as well? Like, if gayness refers to same sex-sex and bisexuality can be same or different sexes-/- wouldn’t that mean that a trans person and their opposite sex partner (same gender) bi?

if gay means that a man likes other men, then a cis man with a trans man is a gay relationship. likewise for a cis lesbian woman who is with a trans lesbian woman

This is actually a huge overarching issue I have with our language bc we neglect to differentiate sexuality and gender attraction, and I think a lot of our conversations would be better if we did. But there’s also no one perfect way to do that (I mean I personally have my solution but not everyone will agree). So until then we’ll just kinda have to over communicate to get our own definitions across

Like saying that is bisexual does not invalidate the persons gender because we’ve already established that gender≠sex

I think another thing to remember is that not everything has to have a label

no but you’re reducing an individual to what’s in their pants and that’s transphobic. you’re basically saying trans men aren’t men enough and trans women aren’t women enough to be gay or lesbian
