it’s a classic move, honestly. It shifts some of the blame off of them, and makes them seem less malicious. Seen it done before.

Also from my experience the vast majority of people who support LGB without the T represent not only a minority of queer people and quite a few cishet people, but are also very right wing

They tend to be White Cis gays with a lot of money. Wouldn’t doubt they use those resources to make their “movement” seem larger than it is

Oh 100% It’s absolutely like you said, classic right wing move. They’ve long had plants in progressive movements. These people are there to say the most insane, sensational, and fringe takes as possible to discredit the general community.

Like I don’t think the group is much smaller than it’s made out to be but I do think the queer people in it are tokenized so that the proportion of queer to cishet people looks better

I don’t disagree with you, but I want to point out that cishet right wingers are probably the ones doing most of the work. It’s important that we hold people in our own community responsible for turning on their community, but it’s also important we don’t distract ourselves with in-fighting when that is exactly what the real enemy wants us to do.
