I’m bi but they didn’t put that on mine. Is it because they know I don’t get laid?

I’m bisexual and a virgin but my doctor has had me get screened 3 times “just in case”.

They describe it like this so that insurance covers it btw. I do think it’s funny I’m diagnosed with high risk homosexual behavior tho

Lmaooo I got labeled with “high risk homosexual behavior” when I went in to start prep, I wasn’t sexually active whatsoever at the time. I asked my doctor and they said they chart it that way so your insurance is more likely to cover the medication and associated tests. Can’t really make the argument that you don’t need preventative care if your chart shows you’re at risk of preventable illness

I told them I’ve only have one within the last 6 months but we didn’t use condoms (we were exclusive and I’m on bc)

Medically they define “risk” with respect to mode of transmission of potential STIs (whether condoms were used and which body parts are involved) and it has nothing to do with number of sexual partners.

Wait, how do you even use those? I mean, as soon as you use your mouth, doesn't it just move around and make the whole thing pointless?

It’s because I don’t use condoms with my boyfriend (that’s labeled as high risk) and I sleep with males and females

upvote 11 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> OP 15h

But you’re not sleeping with both at once, right? Idk not using condoms with a lot of ppl is kinda risky but I don’t think you’re doing that

I plan to see a new partner this month so, while currently just with one partner, soon it will be 2. No protection with only one person is still risky because you can’t know for sure whether they’re exclusive with you. Some other comments also mentioned how it’s likely for insurance

not using any protection except birth control is high risk behavior for the spread of stds

Like separately or in an annual bc the doctor I worked for would screen everyone for their annuals

That’s what I went in for. I’m planning to see someone new soon and I wanted to be tested first

Ya im not sure sometimes they code it extremely for stuff bc they want insurance to cover the test too but idk

Annual. I was ok with it it’s just he didn’t want to test me for low ferritin or celiac disease (both of which I actually ended up having).
