These ignorant pieces of shit fail to realize that trying to fix human rights issues in a foreign nation is not as simple as you make it out to be especially when we can't even fix them here at home if they bothered to educate themselves they’d know modern Iran is the way it is due to U.S interference decades which led to the autocratic hyper-religous state we have today but they wouldn't know that of course because nuance and facts isn't their strongsuit

Lastly, these problems don’t get solved by bombings and war, like okay, the U.S wins a war against Iran and overthrows the government, LGBTQ+ and women's rights won’t be fixed when the nation is unstable and destroyed with no government? Like, how tf will people have human rights when their homeland is destroyed? Have we not seen the horrors in Palestine? Anyone with a brain knows human rights are won through violent struggle, dialogue, and peaceful demonstration by the people in said country

coming back to this to elaborate because you’ve pretty clearly missed the point: it’s beyond obvious that this post is saying that the people who whine about how women are treated in other countries/cultures are the same people who don’t bat a single fucking eye at the shit we do to women in this country, like forcing a brain dead woman to be used as an incubator. that doesn’t inherently mean that women overseas are being treated well, and it certainly doesn’t suggest we should bomb anyone.

her name is adriana smith if you’d like to read her story. she went to a hospital in georgia with severe headaches, got sent home, and was brain dead within days due to massive blood clots. they put her on life support because she was 7-9 weeks pregnant at the time, so they wouldn’t let her die because of the abortion ban. she was on life support for 90 days and was only taken off once her body decayed and the fetus was removed.

yep. her family gets to foot the bill for 90 days of ICU care. her living son lost his mother. her family had no say or choice in any of this, they were forced to watch her deteriorate on life support for the sole reason that they wanted to use her as an incubator

the child is unlikely to grow old enough to understand that. he already has severe developmental issues and is very premature. they also knew that during the 90 days, but decided to continue anyway. additionally, brain dead people on life support are not alive. they are dead, the only reason their body is continuing to function is because of machines and round the clock drugs and hormones because a brain dead person cannot sustain themselves. because they’re fucking dead

i don’t disagree with you. her family should have at least had the choice to keep her on life support or not. it’s the fact that they had no say and couldn’t do anything about it that pisses me off the most. it’s unimaginable.
