I hate when they show trans women with clearly visible unshaven beards and balding literally the worst possible dysphoria inducing caricature ever and market it as inclusion. It can’t be more obvious that they hold you in ridicule in private and you’re just expected to be ok with the facade

Insider queer is referring to media made for LGBTQ+ people, usually by LGBTQ+ people. It includes an array of identities, accurately portrays the LGBTQ+ experience, use language that LGBTQ+ will recognize, etc. Queer tourism is referring to media which features LGBTQ+ storylines and characters, but are not intended to be actual representation. They are simply what’s palatable to a cishet audience.

Right like it was a monumental love story set in the 60s when gay relationships where so taboo but still happened in secret because of the amount of bigotry but also released 10 years before the legalization of gay marriage
