Agreed. Conservatives actively vote for taking away gay rights and protections. They cheer when gay and trans people are mvrdered. They vote against our existence. You can’t come into a community saying you want to be a part of it when you actively are working to tear the community apart. That’s just the truth of it.

I specifically wrote that I am conservative but don’t vote for fellow conservatives. Conservatism and being anti-lgbtq are linked. It’s just that some do both

Less is more. In the same right that I don’t believe the government should be regulating most things I don’t believe the government should be regulating sexual activity. It goes hand in hand with being gay

what does being conservative mean to you? bc most conservatives are massively homophobic and hate any sort of 'deviancy'. just believing in small government doesn't necessarily mean you're conservative

To be a conservative means to want to conserve. To uphold. The real question here is “what’s being upheld?”. The root words tell the entire tale. This is grade school stuff. The root words tell of liberal is liber, the Latin word for free. Liberals are chasing freedom and the fact that anyone isn’t a liberal should be very concerning bc it leads to what we’re experiencing today.

I know what the word means. I'm asking what it means to op, what their beliefs are. I've noticed a few people online call themselves conservative when their beliefs don't actually align with conservatism bc they don't identify with far-left ideologies or the policies proposed by the democratic party and don't know the difference between left-wing, liberal and democrat.

It’s the same mentality as “oh your black so you must like rap” or “oh your white so you must like coleslaw”, just because someone is part of a group doesn’t mean they must have the ideals and beliefs of the masses
