
tbh most poly people i know are queer in other ways, usually multiple other ways. and a lot of the hate i see for poly ppl online is really directed at more obviously queer ppl (like that “all poly ppl look the same” bs). but even disregarding all that, it is an unconventional type of relationship that is discriminated against, so yes if a cishet polyam person wanted to identify as queer i don’t see why they shouldn’t
my knee jerk reaction is "well they're straight." but i don't think straight negates queer when i think about it for more than a few seconds. i think the topic can be uncomfortable and we can dive into "who has it worse", but that isn't productive, and sets a precedent where most the queer community isn't "queer enough"
i think queerness is more than homosexuality, as queer can be gender or gender expression or lack of sexuality as well. i believe a polycule will be viewed very similarly to a queer relationship, prob assumed to be queer anyway. i don't think it's problematic to let straight polyam people into our community anymore than an aroace(/spec) person being part of our community
