I think that gay identities also have some idea of expression but the culture with gay men allows for hookups and crusing more than lesbians, wich kinda makes you need words for what ur into bodily? Like if ur really into hairy fat men you’d put “looking 4 bears” in ur grinder profile. But with butch, you don’t know what ur getting. Because lesbians have less of a hookup culture more of a dating thing? Maybe idk

For me personally I’m totally into hookups but I just Like Women. I like mascs and femmes in different ways but idrgaf if she’s fat or thin or hairy or whatever. Gimme a masc or femme of any bodily variety and I’ll be a happy gal

I think there’s a conversation to be had about the way that gender entwines with sexuality, especially in the lesbian community. And there’s certainly a distinction between expressive identities (femme, butch, twink, etc) and sexual identities (pillow princess, tmn, top, etc). I think the diffrence mainly is that crusing happens in public places, bar bathrooms public bathrooms, and has signifiers, bandana flagging, and stuff like that, it’s more open and anytime type sexual activity
