Going to say it: a lot of gay men are very misogynistic and hate women. Obviously not all, but when I see gay men who are friends with women and are just constantly putting them down… they HATE WOMEN. As a gay woman it’s really sad to see.

Correction: our society is very misogynistic, and gay men are not entirely separate from the rest of society. I think it’s important that we keep in mind that gay men are not UNIQUELY misogynistic. I see this take a lot and it always makes me think, “why specify gay?” The take works just as well if you take out the word “gay” altogether.

I've been saying this! Especially twink men imo they think because they're associated with women and are more feminine leaning that it gives them right to just be terrible to women. I went to high school with a twink who would literally sexually assault women and say it was fine because he was gay

Like I’ve had gay men touch my boobs and think it’s ok bc they’re gay and not attracted to me. I’ve had them insult me and put me down for no reason. I have a lot of great gay male friends, too, but it’s such an issue that doesn’t really get addressed much.

I didn’t say they were uniquely misogynistic, I said that they are still misogynistic despite them being gay. There are a lot of gay men who think that they’re exempt from it but still perpetuate it just as much as straight men do.

YUP… I was out at a very young age and of course gravitated towards other queer kids, meaning I was subjected to that same nonconsensual breast grabbing behavior repeatedly by gay male friends before I even hit 15
