That’s your interpretation of it. Identity includes race, gender, sexuality, and all the other factors of us. The word identity doesn’t imply it’s not true or that it’s a choice

another similar thing: saying my pronouns are my "preferred pronouns" or my name "my preferred name." my pronouns are just my pronouns, the only correct ones; same with my name.
