I think a lot of you need to learn what intersectionality is and maybe this concept wouldn’t be so hard to grasp
I’m so sick of people arguing over whether bi people have privilege. My boyfriend is bisexual, and I’m a non passing trans man. We are in a gay relationship. By your logic my shitty semi-closeted situation gives us privilege. It doesn’t. Fuck off.

It feels like people seem to be missing the points being made about intersectionality and the importance of acknowledging the privileges we have, and taking it as a personal attack.

this is just a loose theory/observation, but I think the reason why we have so much discourse around topics like this is so many people entangle the concept of oppression with their sexuality/gender identity. even if subconsciously, I think many people don’t feel like a “real” lgbtq person unless they feel they can prove how much they suffer as a result of their identity. but whether or not someone experiences frequent privilege or oppression can’t change the fact they’re lgbtq. period.

Which side are you arguing for with this post… because I genuinely have no idea

Acting like having privilege is some curse or burden instead of using it to help others

I mean 0 offense by this thought btw. I’m trying to explore the psychology of why these arguments are so common because I really just want everyone to get along and feel celebrated and happy during pride month 💔 cmon guys the whole point is to celebrate diversity and freedom to love who and how you want.
