tbh i have endometriosis (confirmed by surgery about a year ago) and my periods have been a nightmare my entire life. i have nothing but sympathy for my transfem friends when they share that theyre having period pains. I know what it's like to have my pain dismissed, and im not going to perpetuate that onto my friends.

Trans women do also get period symptoms, but I think what’s weird is that you said you can’t hang out because of your period, something that is a negative and stopping you from socialising, and she says “yeah me too I get cramps.” Like maybe it’s less about the actual period and more you being upset about not being able to have plans and her saying she feels the same even though she’s the one asked neg to hang out? Idk

I do get why that would make you feel a little funky, OP. Not their fault or yours, but I get how something like that could feel dismissive because they implied their experience is the same as yours, when it’s very different, even though it may be similar.
