as someone who hates the idea of marriage, i’m SO happy other queer people don’t. it’s very cute and it shouldn’t be just for straight people. people have been getting married since forever and it’s very important that queer people take advantage of our right to marry considering it’s unfortunately a privilege in our country and era.

I worry that I’m buying into a heteronormative mindset, where I want to marry a man and have a house and pets, and not be like a lot of other queer men I see who don’t like marriage and enjoy having a lot of sex and being “free” so to speak

I think it's the opposite. I love gay marriage because we don't need to be different or new, we, or at least I, just want to be part of a community that we have been shunned from for so long and I think it's beautiful that we can now participate in what were previously heteronormative activities
