I know Google is less and less functional these days but I still need some of y’all to remember that if you encounter a word that’s unfamiliar to you, there’s a quick and easy way to learn what it means and to absorb a variety of perspectives on its usage

usually one single human is not gonna be an encyclopedia who can immediately sum up decades of historical context, etymology, nuanced details of usage cases etc for you on the spot when I was a kid all we had was like, dictionaries and maybe niche academic tomes from the library. asking questions is good but please also utilize the resources available to you

Some of the xenogenders have seen on here come up with no results on google, so if it is not available with a quick internet search I will be asking questions

And other times I will see people discussing the xenogenders and their personal definition will contradict what I find on google

That’s a very specific case and in that instance it’s good to ask! However in other instances, others should really use Google for a quick minute.

fair, with xenogenders I think personal definitions are usually relevant to ask about anyway cause that stuff can skew heavily subjective. no sarcasm intended when I say that asking questions is also still fine

Okay cool! I was just like some of this information is not readily available on google and that should be acknowledged when having this conversation. If it is something like ace/aro google will give you great results but if it is more niche it is hit or miss

yeah, being open to those personal definitions is a good & respectful thing on your part imo
