I'm intersex, but outwardly AFAB. Plus genderqueer, leaning towards feminine. So it's like being cisgender with extra steps

“outwardly AFAB”? “outwardly” sounds like you’re talking about appearances, but “AFAB” = “assigned female at birth”, meaning it includes trans men who’ve been on T for decades + undergone bottom surgery And hormonally-typical cis women—i.e. an extremely broad variety of differing appearances. there is no such thing as simply “looking AFAB”. did you mean to say that you pass as a cis woman, or that you were coercively labeled “F” on your birth certificate despite being born intersex? maybe both?

(my understanding is that intersex people are generally coercively [/ inaccurately, and/or forcibly] assigned as either male or female at birth—that people are institutionally prevented from being assigned strictly as intersex at birth instead, right? I could definitely be wrong about that though, please do correct me if so)

They were assigned female at birth because they have a vulva, but they’re intersex. That’s what they meant
