Does any other non binary person get annoyed when people say “trans and non binary people”? I feel like people forget we are trans too.

i feel like its context dependent and falls under the same problem as saying AAPI. like some nbs identify as trans and some dont, and it might (MIGHT) be some effort to include those that feel their nonbinary-ness is distinct, but ill admit that chance is generally slim

Yeah like I assumed trans means anything that isn’t the gender you were assigned at birth idk

Me too. I’m in a women and gender studies class rn and my professor said this and I got an ick. I’m the only non binary person in the class so I wondered if it was just a me problem

That’s what I say to people who ask me how I’m trans. I was not identified as non binary at birth. Yet I do now. Therefore I’m trans. Just a lot of people don’t include it. People say we’re in the trans umbrella but we are just flat out trans. And so when ppl say “trans and non binary people” I feel excluded :(
