not even a week has passed since dems won the midterms and they're already electing hakeem jeffries as speaker and talking about "bipartisanship with republicans" like they always do. dems are useless and don't care about you either. never forget that.

This is not true. Jefferies has announced he’s running for speaker, there is no guarantee that he gets it. Especially since the midterms literally just happened, and best I can tell, no one has committed to supporting him. No alternative candidate has announced a run yet, because it’s been 3 days since the midterms. Additionally, I have seen no statements about “bipartisanship” from any democratic leaders (or even pundits).

You can criticize the democrats. I have no issue with that. But I do take issue when you lie to do that. Because that’s disinformation.

From republicans. This is propaganda, designed to disillusion young voters and make us believe that there is no such thing as real change.

If you believe that things will never change, then you’re an idiot. Put pressure on your politicians, vote for damage mitigation if necessary. Will electoral politics solve all our problems? It can solve some of them. And that’s the position that we’re in right now.

what exactly is going to change? they dont want to abolish ice, several democratic nominees like talarico threw trans/queer people under the bus to get elected, again the majority of these people are pawns for israel and will continue to aid in the genocide of the palestinian people as they have for years now. nothing major is going to change at all.

When did talarico throw trans people under the bus? All I’m seeing is that he said he would support a bill to ban trans surgeries on minors, which he specifically noted never happen anyway.

And of course, saying shit like this ignores the fact that republicans are infinitely worse on all of those issues

talarico stated he opposes transgender student athletes competing in girls' sports, and trans surgery on minors barely even happens anyway let alone in TEXAS of all places so there was no reason for him saying that in the first place

again, this is entirely irrelevant when the majority of politicians are aipac recipients supporting genocide

He was specifically asked about trans surgeries on minors, he didn’t just say it unprompted. And he did not say he opposes transgender athletes in girl’s sports. He said that if there were safety concerns, he would support some kind of legislation. Get your facts straight.

This is being cited to support the idea that democrats are not different from republicans? Take 2 seconds and look at it. Please note that all but 11 of the non-AIPAC backed representative-elects are democrats. And remember, just because AIPAC gave money to someone, that doesn’t mean they are owned by AIPAC. Put pressure on your representatives: their stances are not immutable, and they will cut ties if it becomes an untenable alliance.

Hey wait a second! Where’d you get this graphic from? It cites its source as “AIPAC PAC receipts for the 2025-2026 election cycle.” But that’s not a source, because “PAC receipts” aren’t for money paid out, just for money that comes in. And also: AIPAC isn’t a PAC, the “pac” in “aipac” stands for Public Affairs Committee, not Political Action Committee (aipac has affiliated PACs, but they are a distinct entity). AIPAC couldn’t even file PAC receipts in the first place.

It also says on the graphic that claims aren’t independently verified, good lord. The actual source you’d want to look at for this kind of thing is FEC filings, and you can look at those. However, they aren’t up to date, because financial statements rarely are. The FEC has only published info through Oct. 14, and OpenSecrets doesn’t have info beyond 2024 up yet. This graphic is bullshit.

This is not necessarily a condemnation of OP. I’ve seen a million similar graphics online, it’s easy to be fooled and take them at face value. I didn’t even think to question it until I saw someone look at how TrackAIPAC doesn’t actually have any sources for its claims. This IS a cautionary tale, and a learning experience. Check your sources. Don’t fall for propaganda designed to make you NOT do something.
