Spoke to a queer elder and he said that just being at pride with the size it is and how welcome it was as an official event in DC still brings tears to its eyes. He loves seeing all the “kids” (20 something year olds) dressed up in their rainbow on the metro openly. He said he didn’t have ANY of that when he was my age.
