I’m label-less but many people find comfort in labels since it helps them mentally anchor their identity, find community, or other reasons. there’s pros and cons to labels, and people who do/don’t use them are valid. however label discourse is fucking stupid

I am someone who has found great comfort in my label. I thought I was broken for the longest time until I found the group of people I relate the most to and without finding that community I don’t know if I would be here today

a descriptive view of labels would mean there is no absolute “right” way to describe yourself. also the only person who can label yourself is you

duh, but my point is that a lot of ppl nominally agree with that and use the right words but don’t change their underlying beliefs
