being queer as an identity and being part of the queer community are two different things. no one is saying you gotta have a degree in gender and sexuality studies to understand intersectionality. hell i’m an engineering major but i’m also very involved in my local community and make an effort to include intersectionality in all of my events. it’s not about being textbook educated it’s about being aware and conscious of the world around you and how it can harm queer people and other minorities.
