U j have to remember most ppl in the gym r rly j nerds who look scary. The gym in my experience has been one of the most accepting spaces that includes straight and queer ppl. J be nice and respectful of the space n ppl will treat u with respect🫶

Tbh, a lot of people are the gym won’t care about you at all. Like at most they’ll glance at you or ask if you’re using a machine, but most people are just doing their own thing

For the working out, it really depends on what you’re trying to do. Like do you want to get stronger, have better endurance, bulk up, slim down, etc?

My real fear is the locker room because TECHNICALLY I have to use the men’s and it’s fucking terrifying for me

Most gyms I’ve been to have stalls you can change in if you feel uncomfortable doing it in the open, but the locker rooms are also an area where you typically keep your eyes down and to yourself, so most people won’t bother you

For climbing muscles, try doing things that target your biceps, triceps, and your core. I’d Google specific exercises targeting those groups for more details, but things that don’t include weights can be pull ups and planks

If your climbing place is like the one I go to, it may have a gym that has a lot of equipment that will build muscles used for climbing, and you could ask the people there for advice. Most rock climbers I’ve met have been really nice people, so I wouldn’t worry about being judged

Because there’s a chunk of time during the school day where I could potentially go to the gym

well then look, just go once and vibe it out. or just do a trial run outside of the school day window. if you hate it you don’t have to go back, but more than likely nothing bad is gonna happen and you’ll feel silly you ever even worried
