By “never heard anything” I mean that I’ve never seen any evidence, which is what matters most. If you can provide evidence then I can understand your point. However all attacking the reliability of my opinion accomplishes is showing me that you don’t care to have a reasonable discussion and just intend on dismissing me as ‘wrong’ for not immediately conforming to your world view.

in other words, i disagree that cautioning others to take your opinion with a grain of salt directly based on the literal and most common possible interpretation of what you have said is an ad hominem attack; it’s not as toxic as many would like you to believe to listen to diverse opinions but weigh different ones differently in different contexts based on the holder’s identity, history, and qualifications.
