i get this 100% and we need to come up with an alternative to exclude men-identifying people in general because where else can the line be drawn? women only spaces are important and i think you should go if that’s the space you want/need to be in but getting the language correct is… clearly necessary. i feel like something people don’t want to address is considering that if you have a very masculine appearance, you’re going to make the attempt at a man-free atmosphere kind of moot/awkward

YES. and then if you were afab or they think you were, they see you as a woman and even she/her you. and if you were amab or they think you were, you’re not welcome and they’ll either say so or possibly worse, treat you like some predator weirdo the whole time. Other options too. If you were afab but you’re on T, you might not be welcome either. People have a very narrow view of what “nonbinary” is, and if you don’t look like you would’ve worked at 2016 Buzzfeed, you don’t make the cut
