aniya sat there and talked about “four beautiful black women” in the finale and melanie agreed, so she obviously identifies as black. i feel like this whole discourse is just completely disregarding that

i'm sorry you experienced hardships for being afro latina, but that doesn't mean you get to sit here and deny someone elses background because she's not like you. Amaya also is an Afro Latina, so is Cardi B. just because you don't see their skin color as black enough doesn't mean they aren't.

I’m so confused by this take and the comment, aren’t Dominicans technically still black whether they have a tan or not…

It would be better if she said women of color idk if I was there that would have been my first thought

also breaking down the ethnic identity of Dominicans by blood quantum is racist and a white supremacist mindset. considering the colonization the Dominican Republic went through, and the identity erasure.

No. They don’t even think that. Dominicans don’t think they’re black even when they are Afro carribean

let’s not generalize all dominicans 🤦‍♀️ amaya is also dominican and has spoken in interviews about identifying as black. it is not our place to police other people’s identities

It’s not policing if we’re stating the obvious… but this is what I mean about the internet being toxic nowadays we focusing on the dumbest shit when the shows been over now and the girls ain’t say nothing about this so we going back and forth for no fucking reason
