I really think what kept her from standing up was the fact that Ace was single and she been wanting to get with Ace and said herself she likes a man that takes initiative and chases her boldly, which is what Ace does. I truly believe if Ace was confident in someone else and didn’t tell Chelley that, she would’ve stood up
