That’s what’s odd to me because I don’t want anyone with kids, especially because I don’t want any myself. Her logic is she needs them to like her first and THEN tell them about the kid, no? Not wanting to date someone with kids is a huge non negotiable preference. I’ve been in that situation before when someone waited until our connection was deep to tell me and I left because I don’t want to date anyone with kids, period. She’s setting herself up.

right it’s giving “let me make sure he’s interested and fully invested first before i tell him something that might be a huge dealbreaker and commitment he’s not ready for”

Because there is a chance when you do that they’ll think “well I’m too deep now,” and that’ll cause issues in the long run. Especially creating a poor stepparent relationship because they didn’t want to be involved with a kid in the first place.
