I think Cierra used it derogatorily by describing an unwanted feature for sure which is incredibly problematic. Lip syncing it however I don’t think is comparable and probably comes from more of an ignorant place.

I'm not here to defend Cierra by any means, but is she still racist if she thought the word just meant squinty? Even if she truly was racist, I just find it hard to believe the girl would outright use a slur in a derogatory context (knowingly) for thousands of her followers to see

I just think we as a society severely underestimate the amount of people that are ignorant. And being ignorant doesn't immediately make you racist, it just makes you stupid 😭 Def lessons to be learnt but public crucification is just doing way too much
