It’s something she was excited for in the beginning and she had a good bond with them at the start and eventually it dwindled down to a few. Which isn’t a bad thing like you said but makes you understand why she said that she didn’t have a lot of girl friends before the villa.

Tbh I think it was more bc she dedicated her life to being only about her 4 year old daughter so she never had time to do much outside things besides the gym and other stuff
