I don’t think that’s manipulation. He said it wasn’t his intentions. Not that he didn’t mean what he said or was going back on it… I do, however, feel that he shouldn’t have picked her just to be cold.

He didn’t say “I’m sorry YOU feel hurt” he said he was sorry how his own actions affected her. This is from someone who’s dealt with narcissistic men and manipulators and has been in therapy.
