Genuinely nobody from this show owes anyone anything. The amount of bullying and harassment they all received this season was disgusting. Why should any of them want to sign up for a potential renewment of that hate? Stop acting entitled to their lives.

So when ppl agree to go on shows, especially heavily edited ones and ones that cut off outside world connection, they know that opinions will be formed on how they handle situations and their actions. Yes, the harassment and bullying is not ok, but the internet is a harsh place unfortunately.

Long story short, they knew what they were signing up for, and people wanting to know the aftermath of the relationships that took place and drama isn’t crazy to want to know. That what the point of a reunion is for

The amount of hate this season was unprecedented. Not a single person signed up for that.

Ofc they didn’t literally sign up to be hated on, but they knew it was a possible outcome

And can now choose to protect their peace and not go to the reunion. Again, stop acting entitled to their lives.

Idk how this is a controversial opinion

I’m pretty sure they have to go to the reunion bc they signed a contract soooo

I wouldn’t say it’s a controversial opinion it just doesn’t really track. It’s like someone signing up to go to war, knowing that death was a possible outcome. They didn’t sign up to die but they knew it was a possibility. Ofc it sucks, but it is what it is

They do not sign a contract. Have you seen previous seasons

I’m pretty sure they do, or they’re obligated to attend and be available for events after the show stops streaming.

It’s always “well they signed up for it” rather than just taking ACCOUNTABILITY (their favorite word) for being shitty people who want to justify bullying online figures. People have gotten too comfortable online because they don’t have to show face for it

lol I’ve never bullied anyone online bc I’m not miserable and I don’t have that kind of energy for ppl. I was simply just stating why ppl feel entitled to ppl showing up for the reunion, and furthermore putting emphasis on how cruel the internet is. I was being logical and giving reasoning

LI is also a show where you literally vote on the people/couples you like so islanders open themselves to criticism just by being on the show.

Exactly. I wasn’t at all trying to justify the bullying and hate, but it quite frankly happens every season, so the islanders know what they were getting themselves into. It’s unfortunate all around

It really is unfortunate but it’s the reality of being on the show and just being a public figure. I can’t even name one public figure that’s not hated by anyone. In general being a public figure is hard. People can be absolutely awful to them, especially when they’re practically given a means of doing so aka voting or interacting on other social media platforms.
