If you’re giving grace to Cierra, you gotta give grace to Yulissa. If not, you’re just a bigot

Wait why’d you say this? No one has mentioned Yulissa

Who are u to say that? That’s up to the Asian and black communities respectively

it’s not chelley’s place to forgive cierra, but in terms of grace everyone deserves some grace. plus i think ppl should bare in mind chelley is most likely religious so ofc she’ll believe in giving grace.

Also Cierra literally used it to describe a negative trait whereas Yulissa used it as a substitute for “man” basically. Not excusing her using it obviously but one had bad intentions vs one just being ignorant

Yes they both deserve room to grow and continue their life without constant bombardment. They've apologized, they were removed from the show. choose if you want to forgive them or not, and move on. Are you happy?

Miss Chelley thinking it’s her place to give anyone grace for saying slurs against a community whom she doesn’t belong to

I mean she is getting an unnecessary amt of hate including threats. She alr apologized & took accountability, what’s the reasoning to continue to go out of your way to send hate? Also, how do yk she doesn’t feel the same abt Yulissa? Ppl basically said “not surprised, get her out” for Yulissa & moved on in 2 secs

People who use slurs deserve nothing. People who use the same slur multiple times unapologetically absolutely deserve nothing

so you think she deserves death threats, to be told to k*ll herself, her family and friends being threatened? what if she actually committed? would u be happy? say she deserved it? like seriously she did something wrong, she shouldn’t have a platform, but the ppl sending extreme hate are no better than her.

What I mean is that Cierra used it in a derogatory way whereas Yulissa did not, but she definitely still should not have said it and it was still ignorant of her like I said. Just pointing out that the circumstances were different.

it’s always derogatory to use a racial slur😵‍💫

How are yall not grasping that I’m saying the context of how it was used was different? Cierra literally used a slur to describe a negative trait about herself that she didn’t like so obviously she had bad racist intentions behind it. Yulissa used the word in casual conversation as a substitute for the word man, still racist and still bad, but it wasn’t used with racist intentions. Both still bad, both still deserved to leave the show, both still needed to apologize.

it doesn’t matter if the intentions were different if the result is that both of them said a racial slur 😭

Where am I arguing against the fact that they both said a slur? I literally said both were bad and racist. All I am saying is that IF you were going to forgive one over the other it would make more sense to forgive Yulissa just given the fact that the context and intention behind it was different.

but no one is on here trying to “FORGIVE” either of them so that’s not relevant ur just making up stuff in ur head to be mad about i will say tho to not get it twisted bc there’s a difference between forgiving and forgetting, and not thinking someone deserves death threats

also you said yulissa was just being “ignorant” which is absolutely not true she’s a Latina from Miami. she knows that the n word is wrong to use LITERALLY EVERYONE knows that’s wrong to use that’s not “ignorant” she knew damn well what she was doing she just saw no issues w it

Huh?? My comment was a reply to the original post not any of the comments. And the post was about giving grace so that’s where my comment came from. I’m not making anything up and I’m certainly not mad. In fact I’ve been pretty calm unlike some others. And of course I don’t think anyone deserves death threats what????

Yes maybe I used the wrong word. Was she aware that using the n-word was bad? Yes absolutely. My entire point was that the context of the conversation when she used it was not a racist one, even though yes her using the word was still racist LIKE I ALREADY SAID.

i understand i just think you should have worded it differently my fault for taking what you said at face value to be clear i agree that the way cierra used it was definitely more harmful but at the end of they say they both said a slur and if you want to take in the context of how they said it you need to take in the context of the entire situation which is that at least cierra has taken accountability and not said it

I said both were bad. Both were racist. Both needed to leave the show. Both needed to apologize. BUT the words were used in different ways and I am a firm believer that intention and context is always important. Is it an excuse? NO! BUT if you’re gonna “give grace” to one over the other maybe take a look at the intention and context.

context is important which is why it’s also important for you to look at the whole situation which includes the aftermath cierra also said that some of the ss that came out of her denial that it was racist were fake

No, go find urs- they’re both harmful but to different communities/people and it’s important to follow what the people who are actually affected in these situations. Nowhere am I defending Cierra or saying she should be forgiven when I say this but for Yulissa it was not only the slur but being raging MAGA and other harmful things and narratives too. and that’s why there’s never room in the convo about Y*lissa.
