i disagree. as a first time viewer of the show, i think that love island is advertised as finding love but that’s not really the case when you look underneath the surface. the show thrives on lust, jealousy, insecurity, testing your relationship, the illusion of options, etc. none of that is true love.
right, and that’s my point. those things are bad, which is why i’m saying the show isn’t really about finding love like it claims to be. it thrives off of unhealthy dynamics, and huda’s behavior just happened to reflect the reality of that more honestly than others. her emotional reactions are just symptoms of the environment the show creates. not excusing or defending her behavior at all, just trying to humanize her.
100%, i definitely agree. communication is one of her biggest downfalls, and it fs caused a lot of unnecessary tension. i just think people forget that most of the islanders struggle with communication in that environment, hers was just louder and more reactive, so it got more attention. she still needs to take accountability tho
lol it’s not even about ‘cracking the code’ for me. i’m a recent college grad with a degree in psychology and sociology, and i’m heading to grad school for marriage and family therapy. shows like this are actually really interesting through that lens, especially considering the field i’m going into
