But they still called her “bitch” when she was standing up there with KC. And aniyas speech about KC at the casa recoupling was positive (in contrast, mela and kaydas were slightly negative) and they only started cussing him out and yelling at him when he came in with tierra. So it was definitely about not getting picked

It is. Watch aniyas speech again. What did she say that was remotely negative in her speech before he came in? And what changed between then and the time where they were calling him out his name?
