This is going to be suchhh a hot take but...... Amaya is honestly incredibly childish and it's hard to find anything she says funny because I could picture it coming out of a 7 year olds mouth

I feel like I have to add; I think Amaya is a great person. She seems like she would be a great friend to many (although I feel she would probably eventually annoy me). It's just weird to see her act so childlike in front of men that she's with. Because at that rate... do the men like that she's so youthful acting?

Or maybe u just infantize neurodivergent people. She is not childish she just likes acting a lil goofy sometimes she doesn’t need to constantly speak in tongues to not be childish. This is such a wrong take

I think this is one of the reasons a lot of bilingual people jump to protect her, cause I get that we all operate a certain way when u grow up in the states, but someone having a different way of expressing themselves doesn’t mean juvenile unless u have a very small minded way of looking at ppl. I totally get the energy being overbearing & not everyone’s cup of tea but I also don’t agree w adding to stereotypes that bilingual ppl are stupid or naive for speaking differently than others.

uh not really for amaya… only thing i can think of is her talking over other people but that is a very common trait where she’s from.

Everyone is infantilizing her. Everyone is talking about how "cute" and "adorable" she is. Most of the words that come out of her mouth, especially her "silly" little metaphors don't seem like something an adult would say. Even if she is neurodivergent, this has nothing to do with it

Why can’t people ever have an opinion without someone making it about a whole group of people. As someone who is neurodivergent, I did not take this as a personal attack. There are a lot of women who use a baby voice when they’re trying to flirt with men and it is cringe.

Holy oppression Olympics bro why is it always one of these types of people representing the neurodibergent community and making us all look like this

I feel like it would make sense if English was her second language.... but it's not😭

Im pretty sure she said that English isn’t her first language and that’s why she relies on the filler words to break the language barrier + she’s Dominican from NYC, it’s very easy to only be surrounded by Spanglish speakers and even ppl who don’t speak English at all, the way she speaks English is like directly translated Spanish- she also seems like she has a pronunciation impairment.. she’s articulate when she’s serious so who gaf

Yes she can still be cute and goofy and be a grown woman at the same time. She is a nurse and extremely smart so what if she wants to turn her brain off every once in a while. Her being neurodivergent has everything to do with how she acts

I’m also neurodivergent and have a degree in psych she did not use a baby voice that I can remember at all but her voice was very altered due to the humidity. I visited Fiji from dry ass desert Utah and my voice sounded a lot different. I’m not attacking anyone simply saying she doesn’t purposely act like a child she’s an adult and a smart one her behaviors just align with neurodivergent traits

It's quite literally just me being observant and smart. If you lack those qualities that is not my fault
