as a dark skinned black woman myself, absolutely not. i think it seems forced bc they were literally put together by production, they then coupled up and said it feels too platonic and there’s no romantic spark. but once taylor and cierra leave the villa and they have zero other options and they couple up again, now there’s all of a sudden a romantic spark and they have this ‘it’s always been you’ mentality. yeah, not buying it and it felt like they were just in it to win it.
Did she not just say that she felt guilty for doing anything with Nic because she was thinking about Cierra and Taylor? Olandria also didn’t have “zero other options,” there were THREE guys up there and she actively chose Nic. After Cierra choosing Taylor while knowing how awful Taylor was to her and then listening to her bs excuse, she decided to say fuck it and do something for her and actually try to explore him outside of that friendship perspective
Yall arguments sucks when they’ve acknowledged what they felt when they kissed and it even lines up with their actions during that time. And even if you did think that they were fake, why would Nic say and do all the things he did unprovoked when in the villa. And why would he continue that outside the villa and also get their families involved.
feeling guilty vs saying it was purely platonic vibes between them are two very different things. i can understand why she would feel guilty, but at the same time, she also said it felt platonic. she could still be romantically interested in him and feel guilty at the same time. but they both agreed it was platonic. how does it switch from platonic to romantic that fast?? that’s why people are skeptical, it’s the timing.
She was feeling guilty and tried to downplay the kiss and said that it was platonic to just keep things friendly between them and less awkward. It also wasn’t even that fast because Taylor said he had a strong connection with Clarke after like 3 days and they did the same in like 5/6 days. They had a solid foundation to build up from and started to do non-friends things.
Well she just said a lot of things with Tyler was cut so you didn’t get to see their full relationship. Shit most viewers thought she was being delusional about Tyler when the islanders and the narrator said she wasn’t delusional. And race does have a way to do with the way you view her, especially when it doesn’t align with the view you personally hold of how black people are/act.
There are people out here who don’t think that Olandria was herself for 99% of the time but the one time she “snapped” and raised her voice then that was the “real” her. Why? Because it’s not everyday the media portrays a Black girl like Olandria. Is race all that matters? No. Does it play a part in everything we do? Yes.
