Acknowledging how his wealth gave him an advantage does not discredit his ingenuity. It just makes him a more complicated character by examining how wealth, status, and connections can influence so much in a person's life. It's the same with every character - they make the most with the advantages they've been given. That isn't inherently bad or good, nor does it mean their accomplishments aren't impressive. It just means that everyone is starting at a different place
"Oh he built his suit in a cave." Yes, the first suit that barely worked. It was only with expensive materials and resources that he was able to make the fully functional suits. "Oh but in Iron Man 3..." yes, in that movie he did act without his resources. But that was AFTER he had already established himself as Iron-Man. Riri's point was that he couldn't have gotten there without having the wealth and resources to start with
I’m not saying she said that to insult him like being a rich bastard—- “you’re not that smart or hero you’re just rich”. But from a black woman perspective it is the truth. I see that from a black man perspective. I genuinely think that men ( it is men in the negative comments) didn’t even watch the show they just immediately want to fail to prove their point.
