The painting is an homage to Jim Hammond - the original Human Torch and the first synthezoid in Marvel Comics lore. He, or rather his suit or a shell of his body is briefly seen at the beginning of Captain America: The First Avenger at the Stark Expo implying Howard Stark created him and then for some reason he “killed himself” although with them making it such a point to point it out he is obviously hiding somewhere
