My residential wad actually super duper nice (we had equine therapy and I LOVED it) but when you live with 20 women in one house things get hella tense. The racist lady literally called someone the n word and there were hella fights over it

We also had a person that kept saying she was a spy for the government and had all these stories about going to random countries to kill people. It was very obviously just made up shit. And then there was someone we called crazy eyes because her eyes were fucking huge all the time and it was really fucking freaky. We would smoke cigs with her and later found out she also tried to kill someone so like

The adult unit was a whole other level of crazy. When I was in the teen unit like 5 years ago we were next to the geriatric unit and this old guy pushed goldfish under the door and then pissed on them and was yelling about the goldfish swimming. Absolutely insane

I got lucky and was in one of the few hospitals in the country that allowed smoke breaks. We had this patio where we’d go draw with chalk and smoke with each other. Honestly awesome

They were in psychosis that is their reality they truly believe that we don’t just make that shit up for fun and the other persons eyes were big because they were manic. Lack of empathy from someone also in there is wild tbh

Dude idk what was going on with any of them. I was there having my own mental breakdown and was NOT worried about anything or anyone else in that place. I was completely off my meds for a full week that I was there I was probably looking crazier than anyone I’m talking about. You have no idea how much I was trying to help people out but it is SO exhausting when you’re supposed to be resting too. Maybe don’t judge so fast next time!

Oh I bet queen I’m glad u were getting help I just don’t want anyone to get offended bc people always stigmatize psychotic illnesses and don’t know a lot about them and think they can control what they believe and it’s a mental chat. Hope you’re thriving now though and medicated+rested
