I’m trying so hard to see reasons to live but everything is so awful. Climate change, ai, awful politicians who don’t care about anyone but themselves. I’m not sure as a human population will go on. The future I can’t see but I’m told I have is gone

You just listed so many reasons to live. Climate change is an issue not because the Earth is warming, but because of the speed its warming at. Go into research and figure out how to cultivate those plastic eating bacteria that were recently found at the bottom of the ocean. AI has the potential to enhance research ability over 10x and cure countless diseases and save humans years worth of time and advance our society by decades. You can use it for you research from part A of this response. Also

Look into all the companies partnering with AI hyper scalers to make it carbon neutral and green, Solar Edge for example. Maybe even read Amodei’s latest essay about slowing the growth of AI for safety and sustainability reasons.

As for awful politicians, yeah politics suck. Read each of their pages carefully and vote for the ones who align with what you care about most. If none of them align even somewhat well and their promises sound fake, post essays and comments about better policies that could be made.

If you’re feeling down and depressed because of large complex issues in the world, then get off your ass and start researching to give yourself the deepest understanding of those issues so that you can actually make a difference and be a net positive to society. Otherwise, all you’re doing is adding negativity to this world and wasting clean air with your complaints.
