My kid’s father is so immature. To night he drove us a total of 80 miles (40 each way) to take us to get some McDonald’s & didn’t tell me he had drank 24 pack of beer until we were already in the highway. He kept drinking & bought more beer…..

I do have to ask though…could you not smell the beer on him? In the car? When cops stop you that’s like the first thing they smell when you’ve been drinking…not saying he was in the right but that’s a very distinct smell.

Who has had experiences like this with narcissists? Could this behavior be caused by mental problems?

in the nicest way possible, leave that man, please. He could’ve killed you and your kid. That’s not just immaturity.

I couldn’t smell that. Sadly I don’t always detect smells

You are right. And what’s worse it’s me and 3 kids.

Fair. Did you know him to be an alcoholic or have issues with alcohol? Also, his choice to do this is not clinical narcissism. It can be a symptom, but not indicative of it. Are there other things he’s done or has shown you that makes you lean into him being narcissistic?

Please, think about having to go to one of their funerals if you need the motivation to leave. If you can’t get on your feet yet, then go talk to a women’s shelter, many, if not all, will house you and your kids while you get enough money to get somewhere else.

In 2023 while pregnant with the 3rd baby they didn’t help. The closest women’s shelter was full and they couldn’t help either utilities or food. They just brought me kid’s blankets. and one 1 hour away required documents I don’t have for me to be able to be there. I called different charities and none could help with the bills.

I’m so sorry, I wish it was better. Is there a way you can stash away funds to prepare to leave?
