Rather, if you struggle with self-hate (and I’ll reveal that I am religious) I want to encourage you to live FOR Christ and for others. Not so that you can meet their expectations (you can’t), but because your life is something so incredibly unique and created by Christ and no one has the authority to take it. I said to live for yourself because I've struggled with this. I know the pain of wondering why I have to suffer to make others happy. I want to live to make myself happy, not others. I want to live to maybe watch that new show. Or read. Not for others.

I don't mean this season. I mean this night. This night is when guns sound like fireworks. When people spend the holiday alone and leave. When people realize they didn't fulfill anything and decide they are worthless. That one more year isn't worth it.
