I wish people would understand what OCD actually is, sick and tired of people thinking it’s just obsessive cleaning, or handwashing, or that it’s always obvious when someone has OCD.
some things i do are actual OCD symptoms, but without the diagnosis i can’t say i have it. is it okay to say i have OCD tendencies without a diagnosis or should it be avoided all-together?

Say it. The diagnosis doesn’t make it true; the behavior does. That being said yeah get a diagnosis for treatment options, work/school accommodation, and to have a definitive answer
