OP here, just signed up for therapy and am searching thru different majors. I think I’m ok with not loving my job. Im switching my major to smth boring now bc I dont want to love my job. I want to love the life I can afford bc of my job and the way I live
I have no passions. I’d rather kms than work a 9-5. I can’t get an A in anything bc I sleep thru all my classes and do half my work and never turn it in. I dont want to go back to school but rotting at home is scary. I cant picture a future i like anymore

For more clarification, I was majoring in professional writing and biology. Writing is what I like to do, and even tho I get burnt out, I still love to do it. Biology was supposed to be my money maker bc writing is generally known to not make enough to live off of. I think I’m gonna switch bio to accounting or pr, something that doesn’t require a masters degree and labs every night. I’m honestly happy with this. I dont have a “dream job”, I dont even want writing to become my “dream job” 1/2

cause it’ll make me hate it. I want a boring job that I can forget about at the end of the week and afford to do what I love: travel, go to cons, buy dumb crap, afford nice gifts, fund my hobbies. I think the way I live my life is more important to me than what I do to make it accessible, and I dont want my life to be all about my work.

This is to say I’m not happy with a 9-5, but I think I’ll go back to school for smth else then when I get bored. Or I’ll be able to make enough money off my hobbies without making them my job
